While on a campout, demonstrate an appropriate method of safely cleaning items used to prepare, serve, and eat a meal.

Pot 1: Wash Pot

Hot water with a few drops of biodegradable soap.

Pot 2: Hot-Rinse Pot

Clear hot water.

Pot 3: Cold-Rinse Pot with bleach

Cold water with a bleach tablet to kill bacteria

Dry with paper towels

Cleaning Cast Iron: Wash cast iron by hand using hot water and a sponge or stiff brush. Avoid using the dishwasher, soap, or steel wool, as these may strip the pans seasoning.
